I really needed another 'run about" come utility vehicle and when Kallie discovered a Nissan Hardbody truck that has been working on a Free State farm since 1996 in the Heilbron district it was a opportunity I did not hesitate. .
Nissan Hardbody repair Project
I just love the old Nissan's because they are such good work horses. and you can actually work on them without needing computer. All new cars are now equipped with modules and they are covered with sensor that will inform you when something is wrong. Which is great but when a light come on you need a specialist to come and tell you that one of the sensors has slutch (old oil buildup) on it. All you needed to do is wipe the sensor clean, R800 rand later he plugged his handheld monitor into the car and turned off the red light on the dashboard. (this actually happened with my Chev vehicle)
It not that I mind paying the guy for his time and effort it is just the way manufacturers go about making it difficult for the average person to maintain his own vehicle by withholding information from him and needs someone to turn off the light on the dashboard every time you change the oil.
With these old pickup trucks you can do plenty yourself without breaking the bank and that's always music to my ears! Not that I am a cheapskate . . . ok maybe a little
I will keep you posted as this projects progresses
