South Africa oldest open water swimming event was held at Cannonville, Eastern Cape formely called the Redhouse River Mile.
South Africa's oldest (establish in 1924) open water swimming event (90th anniversary) was celebrate in a true South African Festival style with families picnicking on the riverbanks of the Sunday river.
The weather was absolutely perfect for a festival today (Sunday 16th February 2014). The Sunday about 25% cloud cover with humanity high after a light shower. (making it a perfect beer drinking day)
