Swimming in Red Sea!
The Red tide has been in and around of Nelson Mandela Bay for weeks, When I mentioned in a previous post one of my dreams is to swim in all the worlds oceans and seas - This isn't what I had in mind.
The real destructive power of the phenomenon was more noticeable on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth coastline at places like Sardinia Bay and Schoemaker (my favorite dipping gully).
Dead fish has been washing up all along Algoa Bay shores.

It was a perfect day for ocean swimming.
Michael and his team from Zports has again manage to organized this event into a unforgettable day,. Hope to see you all at South Africa oldest open water swimming event next Sunday
The 90th Anniversary of THE RIVER MILE FESTIVAL taking place at Cannonville in the Sundays River (formerly called the Redhouse River Mile)

Ps. Althought they say The Red Tide is not harmful to most swimmers, I will confirm this tomorrow because I did manage to swallow a few mouth full of it
