Watching the recent Wimbledon Tennis they showed a screenshot of a spectator sitting way up in the back rows trying to take a picture of the tennis players entering the stadium. The spectator had his arm stretched way over his head with his cell phone in hand, clicking way at the little ant figures down below. I suppose his ant-figure pictures will later confirm to everyone back home that “He was there”
Why is it so important that everybody must know you were there?
Does it make you a better person
Does it give you more power
Some interesting ways of looking at “I was there”
It could also indicate a done past experience. “Been there, done that”
“I was there” could refer to an event that you were a participant in and it will never happen again
"I’ve been there” is the correct present tense
Whatever way you are looking at the past remember today is not a rehearsal.
