The Smart-Race is on!
All Appliance manufacturers are now trying to get ahead in the Smart Appliance race and the has been some interesting developments this past week..
Samsung new smart appliances are now available in Australia, Mielie are keeping a tight lid on their new smart-appliance launch in Berlin and California are taking the lead with their appliance energy policies.
California is leading the states with their energy policies, by been the first setting energy-efficient standards for Appliances. Now they have done it again by ordering that all new houses build should be fitted with rooftop-power. Solar power panels will now become the norm and it will no longer be that only the rich and famous has them on their roofs.
Solar companies are smiling but this energy policy will be pushing up the prices of new homes.
It is estimated that the additional solar energy will produce the same as a solar farm accounting for a extra 260 megawatts feeding back into state system.
Samsung announced that their new “smart” home appliances can now be bought in Australia but not yet in South Africa. All you need is a WiFi connectivity and artificial intelligence will design the appliances so that they work together creating a home ecosystem. Some of the new products are;
LG Appliances are the leaders in the “Smart Appliances market” and it seems with the launch of their new appliances Samsung are taking a swing at the Koreans (Lg) and I’m sure they will be taking some of their market share.
Mielie is a 120 year old family owned appliance business who are going to launch their new “smart” appliances at the IFA Berlin exhibition in September 2018.
According to Co-owner Dr Reinhard Zinkann who is very secretive about the new appliance launch we will be impressed and they will be more energy efficient
