Have you ever heard anybody say “ I bought a smartphone to switch on my Oven”. Most people are buying smartphones and smart-appliances but very few people actually know how each unit inter-crate with each other (appliances).
Most people are like me that only use their phones for one or two applications. I use my smartphone mainly for Maps and emails very little for anything else. While other other people are big on social media. Everyone has their own use for a smartphone.
According to a recent study done by Brand Index and a article written by Paul Hiebert;
4 out 0f 5 Americans own a smartphone
52% Age 18-34 admitted they do not know how to work it
67% Age 35+ has very little capability ot the workings
21% of consumer consider themselves aware
These figures indicate to me that we still need a lot of training before we can do washing at the office on our home washing machine.
Some of the concerns that smartphones users raised.
Integrated smart appliances on the internet is another door for hackers to get access to your private data
Another password to remember
Anxiety that appliances will be unworkable if internet is down
Prices of new smart appliances will be overpriced
Just when I managed to bake the perfect egg, they go make appliances smarter. Now I’m back to square one.
