February is gone and we are halfway in March.
What Half! Where did the time go?
Been on the otherside aren't we supposed to be able to manage ourselves better? By now we all know one cannot manage time, we also know there is no such a thing as time
The sun comes up and when the sun goes down its dark. What we do during the light and dark period is all a matter of choice
Matter of choice
You think it a matter of your choice but mostly your daily activity-choice gets determine by other people like your debt collectors, religious leader or health officers.
Since I have introduce time-blocks into my days, I am living less of the same day over and over.
The is nothing wrong with living the same days, what gets to me is that there are things and stuff that you wanna do like which you never get time for because you are living the same day
By setting a time for the important stuff it's like having a to-do-list for the important things. While list making is my main organising tool using Google calendar has made it so easy to introducing work and as important life ethics into one source as a means to stay on track. (will tell you in another post how google has improved my things)
My current timeblocks
Would love to hear from you how you keep yourself from living the same day over and over
What to do
What are you going to do Christopher Robin?
I want to live to be a 100
minus one day
That I never have to live without you
I get asked a lot why do I say " See you on the Otherside".
The phrase has not dark or morbid hidden meaning. Although I sure one-day we will meet each other on the others-side of the moon.
We love swimming and started to use the phrase when we swim. Meaning;-the talking stops now and we will see each other again on the other-side of the pool after swim or after a 1000 meter ocean swim.
For my swimming partners Nadine and Edward "see you on the otherside" means it is time to get to business at hand - get in water, get your head-down and SWIM!
Stopping while you in the ocean means the riptide is going to take you somewhere.
Using "see you on the otherside" in our everyday living means the same as it means in the water.
Getting to the otherside is important but not the Alfa and Omega
To Kindle our passion we swim on average 3 times a week, which gives you 156 swim on average a year. Not a lot for something you love.
156 Enjoyments Left
They say the average life expectancy of an adult is up to 68 years some country(japan) live longer and I sure in South Africa it must much lower. Deduct your age from 68 times it with 368 days equals the mornings you have left for Enjoyment.
156 times this year to see you on the otherside is not a lot of swims for enjoyment.
We always use to say "We are eat our Frog first thing in the morning" because getting up at 4.15 in the morning for our 5 o clock swim was extremely hard. (must say the long walk on the beach made the efforts easier)
At first the aim was just to reach the otherside once again. Been unfit and trying to swim again was hard. Fortunately there is a thing called Muscle-memory. and getting into swimming was easier that I thought.
Muscle-Memory is a word I picked up from the youngster in the gym. That's another plus I got from eating-my-frog early on my off morning, I would go fool around in the weight section. Man! this section was a eye-opener because I come from a generation that did not do the gym-thing.
If you want to see commitment and dedication firsthand go to the weight section of a gym. My experiences as a new old fart in the weight section is a age restricted story for another day
Most limiting-fitness-mental-blocks are now history and having fun while getting fitter is the goal. No longer do I let magic-mornings-slip-me-by. I plan them to make sure I get the most out of them
What is your strategies to get the most out of your controlled morning. to make each sunrise special.
Will I See you on the Otherside!
For the average American $75 000 will keep them away from poverty and make them buy things they think that will make them happy
In Africa its not so simple to pinpoint the amount of happiness because of diversification from the different cultures

Has the Festive season become a money bleeding season or has it always been frenzy of uncontrollable spending.
Working on a zero budget that every cent must have a place to go to before the month start has created a enormous financial awareness with me. I have always done the big things like " save 30% of my income - 10% for the emergency fund, 10% re-investment fund, 10% savings fund(growth).
As far as the other 70% goes not much thought was given to this section because it was put down to cost of living. Only recently did we realize one can control the amount of water or electricity we use daily. Once we got the hang of saving water and electricity it started to other household items like washing powder and dish washing liquids.
All of a sudden we had some extra left!
But suddenly all the extra were wipe away in uncontrollable spending buying for Uncle... and for so and so that is coming to visit. Don't get me wrong I love seeing friends and family this is after all a time for getting together.
How do you control your the outflow!
Can one budget for the unexpected - Should we add another 10% to the already 30% savings and call it Festive fund or Happy spending fund
Buying ones own toilet paper has always been a sign of maturity. It's not so much the money factor but more the advance planning - making sure you have it when you need.
Toilet-role stashed away for Inevitable is a sign of Maturity
I have learned the toilet-paper-principal early on my life journey. Never go on a road-trip, hike up a mountain or go anywhere. without have a role stashed away. Toothpaste you can buy on the way(just don't kiss anyone). With soap you can squeezes all the little soap-nuggets together or as a last resort you can use dry-clean (deodorant spray).
If you haven't got toilet-paper you cannot use it.
What is your Toilet paper principal today
What is the one thing you cannot go with out today?
What is your inevitable(must do) - What is your important(toothpaste)-What is your convenient(soap)
